Channing Tatum wants daughter to have normal life

As one of the sexiest men alive and a major winner at the box office, Channing Tatum has climbed Hollywood's celebrity ranks to sit right at the top.

But just because he and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, can no longer escape the paparazzi doesn't mean he wants his newborn daughter to follow in his footsteps.

“I want her to have some sort of a grounded, beautiful life," Tatum told CNN at the New York premiere of his new movie with Jamie Foxx, "White House Down." "I hope she doesn’t get into this whole – I mean look at all of this, this isn’t normal."

But, the 33-year-old acknowledged, newborn Everly's going to one day make up her own mind about what type of life she wants.

"She’s going to do whatever she’s going to do. You know, I did so opposite of things than my parents that it’s crazy, really crazy," he went on. "She’s going to grow up to be whatever she wants to be. I don’t want to have any sway, [or try] to have this pre-planned life for her."

One way Tatum's tried to avoid some of the crazy that comes along with being a celebrity was to release Everly's first photo himself.

"We didn't want to go through a tabloid - we just wanted to let it out so paparazzi would stop trying to hound us," he said in an interview with ET Canada. "You know, 'Here it is, that's it. Now, let us be.'"
